Petal n Jimmy.........

thanks Laurie ..... i soooo needed new duvet... need a fresh start cd's are waiting to get picked up............ i copied all the good ones n put a few empty boxes in ...... have no idea where the CD's went.....!!!!!

im prob gona bore you all to death posting pics every day lol......... "oh look guys its got another bit of fluff" " hey ....look at this baby bird poo..!!" "omg.... its sooo fat it looks like its gonna pop" etc.... actually ...... their bellies are quite weird....... sort of like the skin is see through n you can see their insides....!!

You're not wrong there, you can see their insides! I can't bring myself to touch them when they're really tiny, ewwwwwwwww!

Dink did indeed look lke ET!! He was always so much smaller than the others but he was always first to get fed! I can't think how old they are in that picture... I'll have to go look it up!

Ohhh, and the more pictures the better!

I took some more bad phone pics of the fluff heads........ its amazing how much they have grown they must have at least doubled in size....its mad....i will get pics next time of them next to an egg......!! nothing else has hatched yet and acording to my bad memmory and bad maths they probably wont now..... but leaving the eggs in there for now as they are good hot water bottles and they use them to hold there heads up like they have 2 each and flop their necks over the sort of egg cleavage

Wow, they're getting big!! I'm impressed with how well Petal's doing! She's a natural birdy mum, that one!

shes been fab George..... im gonna take the other eggs out soon they are all swishy inside so not going to hatch.... and chickies are getting so big now i dont think they need the extra warmth from them when petal is out anymore.... they look bigger every day i cant believe the speed theyve grown and one of big fluff heads eyes is beginning to open.... Petal doesnt mind me picking them up when shes out but wont go back in the nest box if they arnt both in there .... shes started staying out a bit longer now and started eating a bit herself as well as jimmy feeding her ..... im dead chuffed with it all......!!

Sounds to me like it's all going perfectly!!

My newer pair, Gracey and Grumper, have been investigating their nest box for what seems like bloody years but not really getting anywhere.... until today - Gracey's in the box!! WOOP!!

WOW they sure did grow fast, it's amazing....

Well Petal is being fab......shes out n eating loads now as well as being fed by Jimmy..... and shes still looking quite nice herself .... not lost too much condition .... Babies are doing well too big fluffy can stand up n hold his head up ....looks a bit like a vulture lol.... will try to get some more pics up later .....having a few pc problems..... my c drive is full and i got 2 other drives evidently ..... i didnt know i had.....!!!!

Big fluff head was 3 weeks old yesterday .... and Little fluff head is 3 weeks tomorrow...... so time for some more pics....

Jimmy has started feeding the babies too now...... he goes in the nest box just the same as Petal...... all 4 were in there yesterday....!!!

Big Fluff Head is quite big now..... he(?) can stand up a bit .... but his legs arnt very strong..... he has even started preening...!!!! you can just see his red cap beginning to show and the red behind his eyes.......Hes really got the look of his daddy about him...... he looks at you the same...... i noticed this am tho he has 2 tail feathers that look like theyre going to be green......












Little Fluff Head isnt so big ....she(?) has red coming too in the right places.....but she isnt any where near as strong...... her legs seem to be a bit out of control and sort of splay out way to far....... hopefully thats just cuz she needs to be stronger.... also Big keeps leaning on her..... but shes very cute...!!

Awwwwhhh!! Aren't they just the cutest things now?! I love it when they get to this stage, not so creepy looking!! I swear my babies were never that fluffy though, they look like cotton wool!

Uhhh, legs thing... I wouldn't be too worried unless her legs stay wonky past the stage when she should be able to stand up by herself properly. What's in the bottom of the nest box? If there's not any/much bedding in there then that can cause splay-leggedness but I doubt that'll be it because otherwise the other one would be having problems too. I should think she'll sort herself out in a few days time

yeah they got loads of shavings george.... but i think its just cuz shes trying to stand but not strong enough yet ....... i think shes not so bad already...

Awwwhh! She's probably still a bit bottom heavy! I'm betting she'll be fine by the end of the weekend!

you dont want to wait too long, otherwise your baby could get worse...splay legs are the pits of an existence for a bird to live with.

DAISY! these pics are gorgeous!! you have done a fabulous job! the colors couldnt be more brilliant & beautiful!! these were very enjoyable to see!!! they grow so fast!! its unreal...nothing sweeter though than when there stubble starts coming in good! lol
