I have an adult african grey that would be better off in a loving caring home with someone who could offer him lots of time & love.
Mickie has had quite a sad life so far but is generally a good natured bird. He was bred & hand-reared by us and went to live in a home with a female grey. Eventually his owners parted company and Mickie & partner came back here. They were very bonded so I gave them an aviary to themselves. They eventually had a clutch of infertile eggs but sadly shortly after this Mickie's partner died suddenly. Mickie was very distraught and pulled all his feathers on his chest area. He has been indoors with us for a few years now but those feathers have never regrown - he is totally bald down his chest area and very scruffy around his neck. He is now semi-tame , stick trained etc. and not aggressive or noisy. He does say a few words and loves being out of his cage playing. With a little time and patience I think Mickie would become the very friendly bird that he originally was.
I am in no hurry to part with him as I do need to find the very best home for this poor little fella so if anyone wishes to pm me with details etc. of the home they could offer then I will be pleased to consider it. I would prefer he didn't move too far away as I would like to see his new home if possible.
