Sorry - no pics as yet but on nest inspections recently we appear to have two nests with babies in them, brownheads & bluethroats!! They are only tiny as yet so anything can happen but I'll keep fingers crossed that all goes well.
Also have sennies & maroon-bellies brooding eggs too jiggle

Oh, cool! I can't wait until we get some pics. I don't know that I've seen any bluethroats before. Have a pic you can post of the parents?

Bluethroated conures are CITES listed so have to be registered with DEFRA. All birds sold must have the correct paperwork!

Well as with all best made plans nothing works to rule does it Rolling Eyes
Had a disaster yesterday afternoon when I went into the aviaries to take the eggfood etc. for birds with chicks. The brownheads have done us well. After getting her off her nest I found there were 3 lovely plump babies. As she is a small Mum I have brought indoors the eldest chick for hand-rearing to give Mum a bit of help in keeping the other two ever-growing blobs warm Birdlove
Not such good news when I went to the bluethroats nest though. She started wiuth 6 fertile eggs - Five of the eggs had hatched (one just out of the shell) and the other egg was d.i.s. However she always seems to heap them on top of each other and when I checked the bottom two little ones were dead - suffocated! Doh
So I have brought in the remaining 2 which were only a few days old and left her the just-hatched one - which may not survive.
Consequently I have now to get up during the night for feeds for a few days - here's hoping all goes well with the two indoors. sad
Will get some piccies soon .

Well all the above babies are still with me and doing well so far. The two little bluethroats are gaining weight nicely, probably because I am getting up to feed them in the middle of the night Sleep
Will take more pics in a few days time.

Things are still O.K. here at the baby house 😄
A few more piccies below of the elder 2 bluethroats, the eldest brownhead & also the tiny little b luethroat that hatched. It wasn't doing well with parents, in fact it almost died but I've managed to bring it on so far. It weighed 5 gms when I brought it in 2 days ago and now it weighs 5.6gms - a massive weight gain for one so small cheers

Above 4 pics are the bluethroats

Above 2 pics are the eldest brownhead.

I hope you think they have grown. Still feeding through the night of course!!
